Sophie Moloney - Chief Commercial Officer, People & Partnerships Office, Sky
Get some real frontline insights and watch this video from Sophie Moloney, Chief Commercial Officer, People & Partnerships Office, at Sky. Sophie notes that her experience of Covid was very different from her usual routine. Her workload was so high, she had less free time being based from home in Nelson, than her normal weekly commute to Auckland. Watching the video you might be surprised where she had to locate her office. As Sophie notes "thank goodness for Zoom backgrounds!". Sophie, a proponent of flexible working since 2006, thinks that when you trust people and give them room and space to operate, you get a lot out of people. Right now it is about finding the right balance of "gosh it's good to work from home" and being on site. There are some people who do absolutely need to be on site, or to be able to connect. The Sky team is trying to find the right hybrid, so you can come into work, you can have a bit of a hub, and collaborate, but also feel supported.
On resilience, Sophie says "I think resilience is such an important word ... for me resilience is about being able to be present in various stressful times, particularly in those critical decision making moments."
