Souella Cumming is a partner at KPMG NZ’s Advisory practice, having worked for the company for over 35 years. She heads their NZ Government Services, specialising in governance, risk management, project assurance, privacy and information management, health and safety, fraud and internal audit and assurance services.

A passionate advocate for women in business Souella believes women have a lot to contribute to decision making processes and should step into leadership roles with confidence.

After graduating with a BCA from Victoria University Souella joined KPMG in 1981. She worked with the company in the United Kingdom, before joining the Advisory practice after returning to New Zealand.

Being involved in the not-for-profit sector is also an important part of her career. She’s an independent board member and chair of the Risk and Audit Committee of the Order of St John in New Zealand and serves on the board of Zonta International New Zealand.

Souella’s also involved in a range of professional organisations such as the Institute of Internal Auditors, Risk New Zealand and the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and is a member of Women Corporate Directors and Global Women.
