
Dame Therese Walsh

Dame Therese Walsh is a Wellington-based independent direcis tor. She is Chair of Air New Zealand and ASB Bank, the Climate change Commission Nominating Committee, the ICC CWC establishment Board, and the NZ Major Events Attraction Fund. She is also a member of the Fonterra independent selection Panel, and an ambassador for the Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust.k, and Director for Antarctic New Zealand.
Previously she was Chair of TVNZ, Director of NZX, Contact Energy, NZ Cricket and Save the Children NZ, Pro-Chancellor Victoria University, and Chair of MFAT’s International Advisory Panel, and a member of numerous government panels and boards. Earlier in her career she was the Head of NZ for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, and the Chief Operating Officer for Rugby New Zealand 2011 Limited. She wahas also been Chair of TVNZ, Director of the NZX, Contact Energy, NZ Cricket and Save the Children NZ, Pro-Chancellor Victoria University Wellington and Chairman of MFAT’s International Advisory Panel. Before a career in governance she was also the Chief Financial Officer at the New Zealand Rugby Union and part of the team that worked on the winning bid to host RWC 2011 in NZ.
Dame Therese is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2013, she was named the inaugural supreme winner of the Women of Influence Awards and was awarded a Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Award in 2014. She became a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in June 2015.
